The Panhellenic Pomak Association represents the Pomak minority in Greece. The Association is seated in Komotini and has around 900 members. The Panhellenic Pomak Association is committed to the preservation of the Pomak culture and the Pomak language. An essential part of its activity is the two - monthly publication of the Pomak newspaper "Zagalisa". The association is a member of FUEN since 2019.
The Pomaks are a south-east European ethnic group of Muslim faith and live in the regions of the Thracian provinces of Xanthi and Rodópi, near the Bulgarian border. Their language is Slavic and very similar to Bulgarian.
